Just wanted to let you know that Hootie is doing well here, and she has already captured our hearts completely.  My husband loves her so much that he refers to her as "his" cat.  She is the most affectionate cat we’ve ever had the pleasure of being around.  She jumps on our laps as soon as we sit down, and at night she snuggles between us in bed.  She’s totally precious and sweet---just a little gem!  I cannot give her enough accolades!

I renamed Hootie, and she is now called "Clarice."  Have no idea why I chose that particular name, except that it sounds quite feminine and she is a dainty little lady.

Re:  Newton, he is still presenting a bit of a problem, but not how one might have guessed.  He finally stopped hissing and growling at Clarice, as she retaliated!  She was on our bed and Newton came into the bedroom and stretched up to get a better look at her.  When Clarice saw that big beast hovering near her, she hissed and growled at him, and he went running out of the room.  She turned the tables on him!   Also, Newton loves to sneak bites from Clarice’s food bowl, as we are giving her Iams kitten food to try to put a little weight on her.  I am currently trying to break him from doing that, as the last thing he needs is to gain more avoirdupois!

Clarice has developed quite an appetite—she loves that dry kitten food!  She also drinks a lot of water.  We give her Zephryhills bottled water, because Newton has to have bottled water to keep his urinary tract healthy.

We just couldn’t be happier with our new girl!  We are so thankful that you rescued her and gave her a good foster home.  Bless you for being so kind to Brevard’s four-legged creatures.  You’re wonderful!

In gratitude,

Deanna
